Another very welcome return visit from nurseryman John of Holden Clough Nursery. In 2012 John was BBC Young Gardener of the Year. His plants experience up to 6 feet of rainfall & record low temperatures - 'If it will grow at Holden Clough it will grow anywhere'. Plants for Sale.

Welcome back this extremely knowledgeable & entertaining speaker from Oxford. Timothy was awarded a Master of Horticulture from the RHS. He worked from 1986 at the Oxford Botanic Garden finishing as Director from 2002 – 2014. If you have not yet heard one of the best horticultural speakers now is your chance!

Dr. John Grimshaw
A Plantsman's Garden in North Yorkshire
In 2012 John became the Director of The Yorkshire Arboretum, North Yorkshire on the Castle Howard estate. He holds a first class degree in botany & doctorate in African forest ecology from Oxford University. He worked as Research & Development Manager at the famous Sahin nursery in the Netherlands, followed by the position of Garden Manager at Colesbourne Park near Cheltenham. He has travelled widely & written a number of books and is in great demand as a speaker.

"When will it Flower" – Climate Change & Phenolgy
Dr. Alastair Fitter CBE, FRS
Professor Fitter is a distinguished plant ecologist specialising in, amongst others, phenology – the study of how plant & animal life is influenced by variations in climate. He was a professor at York University from 1972 – 2010 where for the last 6 years before he retired he was Pro-Vice- Chancellor for Research. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 2005 and is Chair of the Trustees of the Yorkshire Arboretum and a former Director of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
